I loved this family session in Fayetteville, AR. The weather and scenery went so well with this family’s natural vibe.
Trying to figure out what the family should wear for a Iifestyle session can feel like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. I was so inspired by this family and their bohemian, Bolivian style. I should also let you know that they did not buy one thing for this session. This style is their own. The beautiful mama is from Bolivia and a lot of her pieces are handmade from there or elsewhere South America. She brought a basket that not only was useful for carrying her handmade blanket, kids snacks, toys, outfit changes and other belongings but also sentimental to her and added to the lifestyle feel of the session. They are big bikers so they brought their son’s balance bike to let him ride and play during the session. Bringing your kids toys or items that are special to them help kids feel like they are coming to play and do what they’d normally do, not just sit or stand and pose for 45 minutes for the camera. When you are authentic in YOUR style at your session, your images will be more authentic and you. You don’t have to go buy some latest trend because it’s what you see on other people’s IG and on pinterest. I imagine some of the common styles I see in a lot of trendy photography will soon date us (like everyone wearing the all white button downs). And as always, if you need any help in deciding what to wear or coordinating colors and patterns, I am here to help but my biggest advice is to simply be yourself and to bring your own style.
