Don’t worry if you don’t know what to do
This maternity session in Fayetteville, AR was insanely gorgeous.
As soon as we pulled up to meet, it started sprinkling. The couple was slightly worried about that as you can imagine, but for me, as long as it’s not lightening or pouring down to where it’s uncomfortable and going to ruin my camera gear, I’m totally up for a little shower in photographs. To me it just adds to the images and honestly, gives everyone the green light that we are here to (most importantly) cease the moment and have fun.
Right off, they told me, we are awkward and don’t know what to do. But that’s why I’m here, to help you loosen up and guide you. I’ll admit my prompts are easy, uncomplicated and pretty basic but they are designed to allow you be still and stay in the moment or to make you laugh. And I always tell clients, if I’m not saying anything at all, that just means you’re doing great and to keep on doing what you’re doing.
As this session went on, everyone became present (Charlie told me he was getting lost in the moment), the discomfort wore off and that’s when you are able to create the photographs that are not only lovely to look at but that you can FEEL. That’s what I’m here for.
